From No Motivation to Can't Stop: Frances, 57

"Before I started I was doing very little exercise, and the less I did, the less energy and motivation I had to do anything about it. It was affecting all areas of my life, not just fitness. I knew I needed to do something but I had no idea where to start, and I kept finding other things to prioritise instead (usually for other people, obviously).

Six weeks later and I've got so much more energy. Strength work has gone from an occasional half-hearted attempt to a proper, regular part of my week. I feel confident about what I'm doing and why, and I've stopped putting everything else first.

What surprised me most? That I actually really love strength training. I feel grounded and calm after a session. I did not see that coming.

The accountability was huge. Ticking things off in the app, having Rosie to ask questions, knowing I had to show up. It all added up.

Do it. By the end you'll know exactly what to do and you'll want to keep going."

Rosie MacLennan-Crump

I'm Rosie MacLennan-Crump: personal trainer, certified menopause specialist, and founder of Rosie Strong (formerly Blossom with Rosie). I help women over 35, and people navigating perimenopause and menopause, reclaim their energy, build strength, and feel more like themselves again. Physically and mentally.

After going through early menopause at 42, I retrained from art educator to strength coach, and I've never looked back. I'm a certified women's coaching specialist, qualified to work with disabled clients and clients living with long-term conditions, and trained through a range of specialist providers including British Weightlifting, Girls Gone Strong and Burrell Education. I'm currently completing my Level 4 Strength and Conditioning qualification. But the letters after my name matter less than what they let me do, which is help you feel confident, supported, and strong, inside and out.

I combine movement, mindset, and lifestyle shifts (including my own journey to sobriety) to help you feel great. I run The Refectory, a boutique strength studio in Ilkeston, and coach women across Stapleford, Nottingham, Ilkeston and the wider Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire area, both in person and online.

Whether you're here for training tips, hormone-friendly recipes, or honest chats about what it's really like to age without shrinking yourself, welcome.

Let's redefine what midlife looks and feels like, together.
